Andreas received his Masters Licence in 1989 after several years on breakbulk and container vessels. On returning to shore, Andreas joined a general cargo stevedoring company in Hamburg. In 2002 he switched to a longstanding Hamburg based Heavy lift and Project Carrier managing global service operations which required a high level of skill, communication and coordination as well as handling project cargoes with individual weights over 400 metric tonnes at high volume.
In 2012 Andreas was then promoted to Director Operations, heading the operation centres in Hamburg, Shanghai and Houston and the subsidiaries worldwide which involved overseeing loss prevention, near loss investigation and customer support in the event of damages.
Andreas has presented many international lectures on topics of risk at sea and cargo operations, the need of safe packaging, professional stowing and securing.
Andreas has also assisted in matters of litigation and arbitration.
