BREACH OF BALLAST TANK

Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of H&M Underwriters of a 31,246 GT Bulk Carrier to establish the cause and extent of damages following discovery of water in one of the ship's cargo holds during discharging of scrap metal.  Our Engineers attended on board the vessel to inspect damages to the vessel, which were found to have resulted from aggresive loading of the cargo resulting in damage to one of the ship's ballast tanks.
