WINCH DAMAGES

Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of H&M Underwriters of a 39,737 GT Bulk Carrier to establish the nature, cause and extent of damages to the vessel's mooring winch, allegedly caused during heavy weather.  All winches were subsequently found to have suffered water ingress, which was found to have been caused by weather-related damage to the vessel's forecastle area.  Taylor Marine attended the vessel to inspect the damages and to monitor repairs.
