FAILURE OF AUXILIARY ENGINE

Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of Owner's H&M Underwriters to investigate the reported failure of a bulk carrier's auxiliary engine which resulted in the shearing of the connecting rod and significant damage to the engine entablature.  Our engineers attended on board the vessel to investigate the cause of the failure, and to determine the extent of the damages sustained and subsequent repair works required.
