Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of Owners’ H&M Underwriters of a RoRo cargo vessel to investigate reports of damage sustained to the vessel’s auxiliary engine and adjacent areas following an engine room fire and subsequent loss of power. An unsuccessful attempt was made to manually extinguish the fire using dry powder extinguisher, and the vessel’s CO2 system did not operate fully. Our experts attended the incident to assess the nature and extent of damages to the engine and vessel’s electrical system.
