FAILURE OF SHAFT ALTERNATOR

Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of Owners’ H&M Underwriters to investigate the cause of failure of the shaft alternator of a RoRo cargo vessel which occurred during arrival at Dublin. Our experts attended to inspect the shaft alternator and determined that damages were consistent with possible foreign object damage and/or high resonance vibrations.
