LIQUID CARGO SPILL

Taylor Marine were retained by lawyers on behalf of a local harbour authority as expert witnesses to investigate the circumstances surrounding a reported spill of liquid cargo onto the quayside, during discharging of a 29,804 gross tonne Chemical/Oil products tanker.  Following enquiries, our surveyors were able to establish the cause of the incident, which resulted following failure of the discharge hose at the shoreside manifold due to exposure to mechanical stresses beyond the design limit.
