Taylor Marine were jointly retained by General Average Adjusters and Salvors to assist with GA/recovery aspects following a substantial explosion and subsequent fire on board the vessel, during a trans-Atlantic voyage. The crew abandoned the casualty by evacuating in the vessel’s lifeboats. Salvors then mobilised to assist with fire fighting operations and to aid the stricken vessel to a port of refuge in Germany. Taylor Marine TR Little attended throughout the discharge operation to establish the extent of damages suffered by the vessel and cargo.
