LOSS OF CONTAINERS OVERBOARD

Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of the ship owner's P&I Club to investigate the reported loss of a number of containers during carriage on board a 864 TEU container ship through the Bay of Biscay.  Our team attended on board to undertake a joint inspection with other parties invovled, following which it was found that deficiencies in securing combined with excessive tipping moments and / or seperation forces to corner fitting was the primary cause of the loss of units overboard.
