Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of Owner's P&I insurers of an 8,247 gross tonne oil and chemical products tanker after a heavy oil sheen was observed to the dock water around the hull of the vessel. Following investigation by our surveyors, it was found that the oil had emanated from a cargo of oil stained steel coils located on the adjacent quayside, which had subsequently leached into the dock water. Taylor Marine assisted in monitoring cleaning of the ship's hull which was arranged by the local Port Authority.
