Taylor Marine were appointed on behalf of ship owner's P&I Club to investigate a reported discrepancy between the shore figures and the vessels figures of a cargo of soya beans loaded in Brazil for discharge at Liverpool, U.K. It was established that there was indeed a shortfall between the amount of cargo loaded and that discharged, however this was agreed to be within the allowance of 1% below the Bill of Lading figures and was therefore considered acceptable by the terminal / receivers, and no further action transpired.
