THE BLUNT END

Join us for this tailored three-day course, designed specifically for candidates seeking to gain or extend their ship knowledge and familiarisation. Our hands-on programme of events includes the following, culminating in the opportunity to take charge of a state-of-the-art ship simulator.

  • Visit a variety of working vessels to understand the different cargo types found in the port of Liverpool.
  • An overview of the technical aspects of vessels, such as, machinery, cargo holds, hatch covers, mooring and cargo handling equipment
  • A look at cargo handling techniques and port storage areas.
  • A tour of vessels in dry-dock (under repair and out of water!).
  • The working of docks and lock procedures/mooring arrangements during a designated visit.
  • Escorted by our in-house engineering, cargo and nautical experts who are happy to answer any questions you may have!

The cost per person will be £1,050 + VAT, which includes all local travel, accommodation and food and the provision of safety wear. All we ask is that attendees make their own way to Liverpool and arrive by 11:15 a.m. on the first day of the course.  Our in-house engineering, cargo and nautical surveyors will escort all attendees throughout.

Please contact our Head Office (UK) for more information and to book your place on our April and September courses in 2024 (all places are strictly limited and therefore subject to availability).
